Before you start anything its a best idea to put a towel on the bed to protect the sheets, make sure that is dark or red. Really you can do any position you want but it may be a good idea that you stay on top with the lady below as it will limit the blood flow a little. Your lady could also try a diaphragm or menstural cup to keep the blood in as much as possible.
